Mark Bryant is an editor, publisher, and journalist who has worked with both emerging writers and winners of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the Booker Prize. He has served as the editor of Outside, which he led to five National Magazine Awards, including a record three consecutive prizes for General Excellence; the editor of Men’s Journal and Play: The New York Times Sports Magazine; executive editor at HarperCollins; editor at large at Scribd, the world’s largest premium digital reading service; and co-founder and editor in chief of Byliner, a pioneer in longform online publishing. He is now head of author relations for Created by Humans, and serves as executive director of Assignment, an investigative and longform journalism foundation co-founded by Jon Krakauer and Linda Moore; and co-founder and chief curator of the Santa Fe International Literary Festival. Mark has published a wide range of authors including Barry Lopez, Margaret Atwood, David Foster Wallace, Roxane Gay, Michael Lewis, Ann Patchett, David Quammen, Colum McCann, Susan Orlean, Amy Tan, James Salter, Alexandra Fuller, Richard Powers, and Annie Proulx.
