Barry Lopez Foundation for Art & Environment

The Barry Lopez Foundation for Art & Environment organizes two new exhibitions annually, each of which is available to appear in up to six venues. In most instances, no exhibition or loan fees are charged—participating institutions are responsible only for the cost of transportation and insurance. In addition to art museums and galleries, exhibitions can be adapted to natural history and science museums and other public venues.

Our flexible, access-oriented structure helps address the fiscal challenges faced by many institutions and allows for a diversity of communities to engage with recent work by nationally recognized artists. By forgoing a dedicated exhibition space, the Barry Lopez Foundation’s structure is designed to be nimble and efficient, minimizing staffing and operational costs to direct its resources toward the support of artists and institutions while reaching a broad, national audience.
